Are You Covered?

STAY PROTECTED
Opt in for overdraft privileges
by
August 15, 2010

Overdraft Protection/Courtesy Pay:

  • Gives you piece of mind to know your transactions are covered.
  • Saves you time and embarrassment during ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
  • Provides convenience and a safety net when circumstances and simple mistakes happen.

Have you opted in?
Recent Federal regulation changes require that we stop offering overdraft protection as currently available. An overdraft occurs when there isn’t suffi cient money in your account to cover a transaction, and we still pay that transaction. Although the majority of our members do not overdraw their accounts, circumstances and
simple mistakes can happen and overdrafts do occur.

New Federal Regulation effective August 15, 2010 (for current members) and July 1, 2010 (for new members). In compliance with the new regulations, effective August 15, 2010, DVA Federal Credit Union will no longer offer overdraft protection on ATM and one-time debt card transactions unless you select the coverage.

Action Required
Your action is required to continue your current overdraft protection. If you do not choose our overdraft protection option, your ATM and Debit Card transactions that exceed your available balance may be declined. For details on your overdraft protection and how you can opt-in ask a branch representative or visit us online at www.dvafcu.org.

Opt-in so you don’t get left out
.

Opting in is easy.

Simply read the opt in form, make your selection, sign and return via mail, fax, or in person at your local branch.

A fee of $28 may be imposed to cover overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, or other electronic means. You have 30 days to cover overdrawn amounts. Payment of overdrafts is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts.
