The DVA Federal Credit Union is committed to providing you with financial products and services to meet your financial goals. We are required by federal law to provide you with this privacy notice. It describes our policies and practices that protect your privacy and enable us to share information to make available competitive financial products and services. Information We Collect and Disclose About You
We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources:
ü Information we receive from you on a membership and loan application and other forms;
ü Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others;
ü Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency; and
ü Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms such as from your current or past employers or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
We may disclose all the information we collect as described above and as permitted by law. Our commitment to provide you with competitive products and services may require that we share information about you with our affiliates, which may provide mortgage lending and financial planning services respectively.
We may also disclose all the information we collect, as described previously and as permitted by law, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide. We do not allow these companies to sell the member information we provide to other third parties.

If you terminate your membership with the Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.
How We Protect Information
We restrict access to non-public personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguard for your non-public personal information.
What Members can do to Help
The Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. Members can help by following these simple guidelines:
ü Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (personal identification numbers) and passwords. NEVER keep your PIN with your debit or credit card, which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
ü Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. IF someone calls you, explains that the call is on behalf of the Credit Union and asks you for your personal information, you should be aware. Official Credit Union staff will have access to this information and will not need to ask for it. If you receive such a phone call or email – contact the Credit Union immediately.
ü Keep your personal information with us current. It is important that we have current information on how we can reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent activity or use of your account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes. Please let us know.

Information Collected and Stored Automatically
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, the DVA Federal Credit Union employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage to the web site.
For site management purposes, only the number of times the web site is accessed is collected. No personal information, such as name and address, is collected or used for analysis. We collect no information that would identify you personally.
The DVA Federal Credit Union does not use "cookies." (A "cookie" is a file placed on your computer's hard drive by a web site that allows it to monitor your visit, usually without your knowledge.) You can set your Internet browser to warn you when placement of a "cookie" is requested and decide whether or not to accept it.
Information Collected from E-mails and Web Forms
When you send us personally identifying information in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment about our web site, we only use this information to respond to your question or comment. The DVA Federal Credit Union does not accept instructions regarding your accounts by electronic mail. We do not create individual profiles from the information you provide.
The DVA Federal Credit Union's web site does not permit you to fill out forms while you are connected to it. Therefore, no personally identifying information from these forms is collected. However, you can download certain forms from our web site to your computer and print them.
